John Richard Purey-Cust, who died 23 January, 2024, at Gore, New Zealand, aged 89, was a scion of the Barons Brownlow, and was heir presumptive to his kinsman, the 8th Baron.
He was born 30 June, 1934, son of Brigadier Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust, CBE, DSO, MC (1888-1958), and his wife the former Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch (who died in 1993), and was educated at Eton, & was a forester, whose home for many years was at Gore, New Zealand. He was unmarried.
From 2021 he was heir presumptive to his kinsman, the 8th Baron Brownlow (born 9 July, 1974).
