Holliday/Compton marriage

The marriage took place 11 June 2022, at Ripon Cathedral between Thomas Rhys Holliday [born 1992], younger son of Dr Jonathan J.C. Holliday [born 1956], of Windsor, Berkshire, by his wife the former Gwen M. Lewis, & Alexandra Theodosia Compton [born 23 July, 1992], scion of the Marquesses of Northampton, daughter of Richard Clephane Compton [born 18 April, 1957], of Newby Hall, near Ripon, North Yorkshire, by his wife the former Lucinda Jane Astell Hohler [born 22 December, 1960], scion of that landed gentry family.

Alexandra Compton is a great-great-great granddaughter of the 4th Marquess of Northampton [1818-97]. Her great-grandfather Maj Edward Robert Francis Compton [1891-1977], of Newby Hall, married Sylvia Farquharson of Invercauld [1899-1950], and their elder son, Alwyne Compton [born 1 May, 1919], succeeded his mother in the clan chieftainship and became Alwyne Farquharson, 16th of Invercauld.
