_. Barbara Rose-Innes [née Nicholls], died 8 January, 2021. She was the wife of [Alistair] Christopher Rose-Innes, sometime head of that Scottish landed gentry family, of Netherdale, Banff.
The former Barbara Nicholls, she married in 1955, [Alistair] Christopher Rose-Innes, by whom she had two sons and two daughters.
Her husband was, until the age of 63, Professor of physics in Manchester, though he had always engaged in art as a `serious` pastime. Deciding in 1989 he would like to practice art `properly`, and he took slightly early retirement and completed a Fine Art degree, specialising in sculpture, at Manchester Polytechnic, graduating with 2.1 honours. He works chiefly in wood, stone, and clay and likes to experiment rather than develop a distinctive style. His work therefore ranges from abstract to portraiture, from table-top to public sculpture .
