Margaret Ruth Chadd, MBE (nee Collett), who died 14 July, 2018, was a scion of the Collett baronets, born in 1922, a daughter of Sir Henry Seymour Collett, 2nd Baronet; married 1950, Colonel George Victor Nudd Chadd, OBE, TD (who died in 1997). Future prime minister Edward Heath was the best man at her nuptials. She leaves issue, 2 sons, and was predeceased by 2 others. Her eldest son, Christopher, godson of Edward Heath, died aged 23 in 1973 while crewing on Heath's yacht, Morning Cloud, when it sank in a storm. Another son Timothy was killed in a road accident in France.
