Clement Francis Salaman died circa May, 2018. He was 85. He was an authority on Marsilio Ficino, the 15th-century Renaissance philosopher and humanist, tutor of both Lorenzo and Cosimo de Medici, who wrote copious letters to his friends and colleagues.
He was descended from the Barons Latymer. He was born 23 December, 1932, son of Sebastian Max Alexander Myer Clement Salaman (1906-1976), and his wife the former Joan Elisabeth Patterson (1908-2002), a granddaughter of the 5th Baron Latymer (1852-1923).
He married 19 August, 1961, Juliet Freda Nicholson (born 1939), daughter of Robert Nicholson and his wife the former Dorothy Gill, by whom he had issue, a son, Daniel, and two daughters, Natalie and Clara.
