_.The Hon Nicholas Assheton, who died 27 Nov, 2012, as the result of a
fall, was a scion of the Barons Clitheroe (Peerage of the UK, cr 1955).
He was born 23 May, 1934, a younger son of the 1st Baron Clitheroe
(1901-84), by his wife the former Hon Sylvia Benita Frances Hotham (d
1991), scion of the Barons Hotham (Peerage of Ireland, cr 1797).
Nicholas Assheton married in 1960, Jacqueline Harris, a daughter of Air
Marshal Sir Arthur (Bomber) Harris, 1st Baronet,by whom he had issue.
Career:-> sometime a member of the London Stock Exchange and a deputy
chairman of Coutts, Treasurer and Exta Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth
