The engagement was announced 25 May 2006, between Peter G.S. Maitland-Carew (b. 1979), scion of the Barons Carew, second son of the Hon Gerald Edward Maitland-Carew (b. 1941), of Thirlestane Castle, Lauder, by his wife Rosalind Averil Speke, & Joanna L. (Posy) Hardie, daughter of Mr Timothy Hardie, of Barclayhills, Perth, and Mrs Jill Hardie, of St Andrews, Fife.
