Emily Johnson-Ferguson (nee Elliot-Square) wife of Charles Patrick Johnson-Ferguson (b. 1972), gave birth to a daughter, Eloise Gabriella, at Sydney, Australia, 23 January, 2007, a sister for DaisyElizabeth, who was b. 17 Mar 2004, and for Olivia Anna, who was b. 12 Sept 2005.
Charles is the grandson of baronets paternally and maternally. His mother is a daughter of Sir Humphrey Sherston-Baker, 6th Baronet, and his father is a son of Sir Neil Johnson-Ferguson, 3rd Baronet.

Jonty Robert Christopher Scott

Louisa Gresley Wake Scott b. 1975 (nee Welby-Everard) wife of Tom R.G. Scott, and scion of the Welby Baronets (cr. 1801), gave birth to a son, Jonty Robert Christopher, 11 January, 2007, a brother for Rose Virginia, who was b. 17 May, 2005.
Tom R.G. Scott is the son of Mr and Mrs William Scott, of Meiklewood, Stirling, and Louisa Scott is a daughter of Colonel and Hugh Earle Welby-Everard, MBE (b. 1944), of Hurstbourne Tarrant, Andover, Hampshire, and the late Mrs Virginia Welby-Everard.

Blacker/McAndrew engagement

The engagement was annouced 29 January, 2007, between Edward P. Blacker, elder son of Mr Peter Blacker and Mrs Fenwick Scott, both of West Sussex, and the Hon. Diana Sarah McAndrew (b. 1978), elder daughter of the 3rd Baron McAndrew (b. 16 Feb 1945), and Sarah Baroness McAndrew.

Nancy Constance Staveley (1914-2007)

Nancy Constance Staveley (nee Cail), who died 24 January, 2007, aged 92, was the widow of Capt.(William Arthur) Miles Staveley (1913-81), late the Green Howards, scion of that LG family, of North Stainley Hall, Ripon, and the mother of Robert, Veronica and the late Simon Staveley. She was b. 1914, daughter of H.I. Cail, of Elmfield Hall, Scorton, Yorks, and married Capt Staveley, 17 Sept, 1938. He died in 1981, aged 68. Mrs Staveley's granddaughter, Amanda, was sometime the inamorata of HRH The Duke of York.

Cosmo William Nicholas Stirling

Zoë Stirling (nee Heptonstall) wife since January, 2003, of Duncan William Angus Stirling, [b. 1963], only son of Sir Angus Stirling, Kt, [b. 1933], and Lady Stirling, [nee Schofield], gave birth to a 3rd son, Cosmo William Nicholas, 30 December, 2006, a brother for Angus and Orlando.
Duncan Stirling is a grandson paternally of Duncan Alexander Stirling, who married 1926, Lady Marjorie Hilda Murray, [b. 1904], daughter of the 8th Earl of Dunmore. Duncan's maternal grandfather, William George Broadbent Schofield, married 1933, the Hon. Armyne Margaret Astley, second daughter of the 21st Baron Hastings.

Julia Davina Butter

Agnieszka D. Butter (nee Szeluk), wife since Sept 2006, of Charles Harold Alexander Butter (b. 10 Apr 1960), gave birth to a daughter, Julia Davina, 20 Dec, 2006.

Charles Butter is a brother of the Countess of Dalhousie, and a first cousin of the Duchesses of Abercorn & Westminster, and is a grandson maternally of Major-General Sir Harold Augustus Wernher, 3rd Bt, GCVO, by his wife Lady Zia Wernher, daughter of HIH Grand Duke Michael of Russia and his morganatic wife Countess de Torby, &c.

Dick Wingfield Digby was an outstanding Dean of Peterborough who brought method and reliability to the life and administration of that great but fragile Midlands cathedral. He arrived to find much of the precincts in disrepair, the deanery unusable, the organ, heating and fabric needing attention and only 700 Friends (a neighbouring cathedral had 5,000). He restored the cathedral and created a happy and confident worshipping community. He knew the congregation personally, encouraged regular worshippers to play a part in financing the cathedral and sharing in the revised worship and liturgical changes.

Lord Kelvedon

The Lord Kelvedon, who died 27 January, 2007, at the age of 71, was, as Paul Channon, Conservative MP for Southend West, 1959-1997; and successively Secretary of State for Trade & Industry 1986-87, and Secretary of State for Transport 1987-89, in the Administration of Margaret Thatcher. (Henry) Paul Guinness Channon, PC (1980), was b. 9 Oct 1935, a son of the diarist Sir HenryChannon, by his wife the former Lady Honor Guinness, scion of the Earls of Iveagh. Channon married in 1963, Ingrid Olivia Georgia Wyndham, svion of the Barons Egremont & Leconfield, by whom he had issue. On his retirement from the Commons he was raised to the peerage (for life) taking the title Baron Kelvedon, of Ongar in thr Co. of Essex.

General Sir David Mostyn

General Sir (Joseph) David Frederick Mostyn, who died 20 January, 2007, aged 78, was Adjutant-General from 1986 to 1988; as a young officer in the Green Jackets he played an important role in suppressing a rebellion in Brunei. In December 1962 an insurrection broke out in the British Protectorate of Brunei, and 1st Green Jackets (1GJ), based at Penang, Malaya, moved at short notice to Singapore and embarked in the cruiser, Tiger. The ship was designed to accommodate no more than 400 troops, and, as the last of the 619 men filed on board, the captain was heard to exclaim: "For God's sake, let's sail before we sink!" He was a scion of the Mostyn Baronets, b. 1928, son of Joseph Philip David Mostyn (1894-1929).
