Th engagement was announced 19 October, 2024, between James M.A. Baillie, scion of the Baillie landed gentry family of Dochfour, son of the late Maj. Hubert Albert Gucewicz Baillie (1945-2018), Grenadier Guards, of Netherton, Somerset, and his wife the former Sarah Willway (born 1957), & Charlotte M. Stockdale, daughter of the late Lieutenant-Colonel Miles Stockdale, MBE, and Mrs Stockdale, of Pimperne, Dorset.
James Baillie is descended from the Merrie Monarch King Charles II and his mistress Louise de Keroualle, Duchess of Portsmouth.
