_. Sir John Palmer, 8th Baronet [created 1791]; retired Director, W.S. Atkins Agriculture, 1979-88, and late the Colonial Service; died 7 June, 2019. He was 92.
John Edward Somerset Palmer was born 27 October, 1926, son of Sir John Palmer, 7th Baronet; succeeded to the baronetcy, 1963; married 1956, Dione Catherine Skinner; one son, Robert, and one daughter, Harriet.
Educated at Canford and the universities of Cambridge and Durham; served in the Colonial Service in Northern Nigeria, 1952-61.
Sir John is succeeded by his only son, Robert John Hudson Palmer, who was born 20 Dec, 1960.
Thanksgiving Service takes place at St Andrew's Church, Feniton, 21 June, 2019.
