Diana Cicely Countess of Albemarle, DBE 1909-2013

_.Diana Cicely Countess of Albemarle, DBE (1956), who died 6 May, 2013, aged 103, was the second wife, and widow of the 9th Earl of Albemarle, MC. Lady Albemarle was born Diana Cicely Grove, 6 Aug 1909, daughter of Maj John Archibald Grove, and married 24 Feb 1931, Walter Egerton George Lucian Keppel, 9th Earl of Albemarle (1882-1979). There was one daughter of the marriage, Lady Anne-Louise Mary Keppel, who was b 17 Mar 1932 (wife of Sir Hew Hamilton-Dalrymple, Bt). She was Chairman: Development Commission, 1948-74, The Drama Board, 1964-78; Norfolk County Organiser, WVS 1939-44; Chairman, Executive Committee, Nat Fed of Women's Institutes 1946-51; Vice-Chairman, The British Council, 1959-74; &c. Her husband died in 1979. -=-
