Lieutenant-Colonel Gilbert Alexander Lucius Chetwynd Talbot, 14th/20th King's Hussars, who died at Oxford, 10 January, 2007, was a scion of the Earls of Shrewsbury & Waterford; born in 1918, the son of Charles Fleming Chetwynd Chetwynd-Talbot (1879-1933), by his wife Margaret Dorothy Huyshe; educated at Eton; Assistant Military Secreatry to the Commander-in-Chief, Middle East; Secretary, Albany, Piccadilly, 1967-83; served in WW2 in Iraq, Syria, Persia (mentioned in despatches) and Italy; unm. Funeral Service at St Agatha's Church, Brightwell cum Sotwell, nr Wallingford, 26 January, 2007.
