The engagement was announced 28 February, 2006, between George McFerran, eldest son of Mr & Mrs Rowan McFerran, of Thoresby, Nottinghamshire, & May Viola Lyttelton (b. 1976), scion of the Viscounts Cobham, daughter of the Hon. Richard Cavendish Lyttelton (b. 1949), by his wife the former Romilly Barker.
