Hon Rafe Mountstuart Elphinstone (born 2015)

_. The Lady Elphinstone, wife of the Queen's cousin, the 19th Lord Elphinstone (b 15 Apr, 1980) (Peerage of Scotland, cr 1509, Baron, UK, cr 1885), gave birth to a second son, the Hon Rafe Mountstuart Elphinstone, 22 January, 2015, a brother for Jago, Master of Elphinstone, who was b in 2011, and for Isla, who was born in 2008.

Lord Elphinstone is a son of the late 18th peer by his wife the former Willa Mary Gabriel Chetwode, scion of the Barons Chetwode, and is a gt-gt-grandson of the 14th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne.

He married in 2007, Nicola J Hall, daughter of Michael Hall, of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

UK, cr 1911), third daughter of  the 4th Viscount Allendale (b 1948),  of Bywell Castle, Northumberland, by his wife the former Theresa Mary Magdalene More O'Ferrall.

Dowager Countess of Gosford 1911-2015

_. The Dowager Countess of Gosford, who died 15 January, 2015, aged circa 103, was the second wife, and widow of the 6th Earl of Gosford, OBE (1911-66) {Peerage of Ireland, cr 1806).

She was the former Cynthia Margaret West, born in 1911, daughter of Capt Henry Cave West, MC, RHA, who was killed in Mesopotamia in 1915; married firstly, Maj James Delius, 13th/18th Hussars, who was killed in action in Normandy in 1944; married 2ndly, 21 Sept, 1960, as his second wife, the 6th Earl of Gosford, OBE, who died 17 Feb, 1966, when he was succeeded by a son of his first marriage.

The countess leaves two children from her first marriage, David and Nicky (Christie).

(Kenneth) James Graham 1947-2015

_. (Kenneth) James (Jamie) Graham, who died 21 January, 2015, aged 67, was a scion of the Graham baronets (Bt, of Larbert House, cr 1906).

He was born 30 June, 1947, a son of Maj-Gen Frederick Clarence Campbell Graham, CB, DSO (1908-88), by his wife the former Phyllis Mary MacMahon; married 1972, Victoria Margaret Anne, yst dau of Maj Andrew Stirling Home Drummond Moray, scion of the landed family, by whom he had issue, a son, Magnus (b 1974), and a daughter, Nina (b 1976).

A Thanksgiving Service for his life will be held at St James the Great, Dauntsey, Monday 16 Feb.

Serena Margaret Gore {nee Mounsey} (d 2015)

_. Serena Margaret Gore, who died 21 January, 2015, at Amesbury Abbey Nursing home, was the wife of a scion of the Earls Temple of Stowe (Peerage of the UK, cr 1822), and was mother of the Duchess of Norfolk.

She was the former Serena Margaret Mounsey, daughter of Charles Francis Ewart Mounsey, of Yaxley Hall, Eye, Suffolk, formerly of Kuala Lumpur, Malaya, and of Mrs Kenneth Robert Porter Sangster, of Turness, Tilford, Surrey, and married 29 April, 1957 {div 1969}, as his first wife, Capt John Temple Gore,Coldstream Guards {kinsman of the Earls Temple of Stowe, but not descended from the 1st Earl & a grandson maternally of the 16th Earl of Eglinton & Winton}; she had issue, a son, Christopher Charles (born 1959), and two daughters, Charlotte Sara Jane (born 1958), and Georgina Susan (born 1962), wife of the 18th Duke of Norfolk, hereditary Earl Marshal, &c.

Lynne Anne Staveley (nee Raper) c1949-2015

_. Lynne Anne Staveley {nee Raper}, who died 16 January, 2015, at her home at Mickley Park, Mickley, near Ripon, aaged 65, was the wife of Robert Staveley, of that landed family, formerly of North Stainley Hall, Ripon. See was the former Lynne Anne Raper, and married Robert Staveley, son of Capt (William Arthur) Miles Staveley, Green Howards (who d 1981), by his wife the former Nancy Constance Cail (who d 2007).

She is survived by her husband and a son, James and daughter, Amanda, who was sometime the inamorata of HRH The Duke of York.

Lady Richard Percy 1927-2015

_. Lady Richard Percy, who died  10 January, 2015, aged 87, was the second wife, and widow of Lord Richard Charles Percy (1921-89), third son of the 8th Duke of Northumberland.

She was the former Hon Clayre Campbell, born 28 May, 1927, second daughter of the 4th Baron Stratheden & Campbell (1899-1981) by his first wife the former Jean Helen St Clair Anstruther-Gray (d 1956); she married 1stly 1950 (div 1974), as his 1st wife,  Nicholas Ridley, MP (b 1929, d 1993), afterwards a life peer as Baron Ridley of Liddesdale (cr 1992). Her first husband was a scion of the Viscounts Ridley; married 2ndly, 1979, as his 2nd wife, Lord Richard Percy, 3rd son of the 8th Duke of Northumberland (1880-1930), by his wife the former Lady Helen Gordon-Lennox (d 1965), daughter of the 7th Duke of Richmond & Gordon, &c.

Lady Richard Percy leaves three daughters from her first marriage, Jane, Susanna and Jessica.

A celebration of her life will be held at St John's, Hyde Park, 5 Feb, 2015.

The 6th Baron Southampton 1928-2015

_. The 6th Baron Southampton {Peerage of GB, cr 1780}, died 10 January, 2015. He was 86.

Charles James FitzRoy was born 12 August, 1928, son of the 5th Baron (1904-89), who disclaimed his peerage of life, by his 1st wife the former Margaret Drake (who died in 1931). The Barons Southampton are a cadet of the Dukes of Grafton, descending from King Charles II. He succeeded to his father's peerage in 1989.

Lord Southampton was twice wed; firstly 29 May, 1951, to Pamela Anne Henniker (d Feb 1997), daughter of Edward Percy Henniker; married 2ndly, Oct 1997, Mrs Alma Pasquale Slater (nee Perez).

From his first marriage he had issue ~, two sons Charles & Edward and 2 daughter Isabelle & Geraldine. He was predeceased by his elder son, killed in an accident, in 1975.The only surviving son, who succeeds to the peerage, was born 8 July, 1955.

The 8th Marquess of Ailsa 1956-2015

_. The Marquess of Ailsa, Chief of the name and arms of the clan Kennedy, who died suddenly in Florida, 15 January, 2015, aged 58, was the eighth holder of the peerage (Marquess, cr UK, 1831).

Archibald David Kennedy was born 13 Sept, 1956, son of the 7th Marquess (1925-94), by his wife the former Mary Burn (d 2007), and succeeded to the peerage on his father's death, 7 Apr, 1994.

Lord Ailsa was also Earl of Casillis in the peerage of Scotland (cr 1509), Lord Kennedy (also in the peerage of Scotland), and Baron Ailsa (Peerage of the UK), &c.

The marquess married in 1979 (div 1989), Dawn Leslie Anne Keen, only daughter of David A. Keen, by whom he had two daughters, Lady Rosemary Kennedy (born in 1980), and Lady Alicia-Jane Kennedy, who was born in 1981.

He is succeeded in the family honours by his younger brother, Lord David Thomas Kennedy, of Morriston, Culzean, co Ayr, who was born 3 July, 1958.

Anna Carlyn Swire (born 2014)

_. Laura Caroline Swire (nee Chisholm, born 1978), wife of Merlin Bingham Swire (born 1973), scion of that landed family, gave birth to a daughter, Anna Carlyn, 21 December, 2014.

Merlin is the son of son of  Sir Adrian Christopher Swire, Kt (b. 1932), of Sparsholt, Oxon, by his wife, the former Lady Judith Compton (b. 1943), & Laura is the daughter of Mr Colin Chisholm, of Owlpen, Gloucestershire, by his wife the former Hon Caroline Elizabeth Wyndham (b 1951).

Merlin Swire is a grandson maternally of the 6th Marquess of Northampton, DSO (1885-1978), and Laura Chisholm is a granddaughter maternally of the 1st Baron Egremont, MBE (1920-72)..

Ike Stephen Mark Elliot (born 2014)

_. Mary-Clare Elliot {nee Winwood}, wife of Benjamin William Elliot (b 1975), descended from the Barons Ashcombe, gave birth to a son, Ike Stephen Mark, 31 Dec, 2014.

Ben Elliot is the son of Simon John Elliot by his wife the former Annabel Shand (b 1949), & Mary-Clare (b circa 1987), is dau of Stephen (Steve) Lawrence Winwood (b 1948), by his wife the former Eugenia Clafton.

 

Ben Elliot is a nephew of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. Ben's wife is a daughter of Steve Winwood, the singer, songwriter and musician, &c

The couple have a son Arthur, born in 2012.

Philippa Margery Warde-Norbury 1938-2015

_. Philippa Margery Warde-Norbury, who died 10 January, 2015, aged 76, was a scion of the Cooke baronets {Bt, E, 1661, of Wheatley Hall, Yorks}, and was widow of Tony Warde-Norbury, of that landed family, of Hooton Pagnell Hall, &c.

She was born in 1938, dau of Col Philip Ralph Davies-Cooke, of Owston Hall, Yorks, by his wife {and kinswoman} the former Kathleen Mabel Davies-Cooke, OBE (who d 1994), and married 15 April, 1961, Capt. (William George) Antony (Tony) Warde-Norbury (1936-2014), late Coldstream Guards, a scion of the Warde-Aldam landed family of Hooton Pagnell, Healey & Frickley.

Her husband, who died 1 January, 2014, aged 77, was born 13 March, 1936, son of Maj Harold George Norbury, later Warde-Norbury (1899-1974), of  Hooton Pagnell Hall, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, by his wife the former Mary Betty Warde-Aldam (b 27 Mar, 1909 -  d 1978). Mary Betty Norbury received the Hooton Pagnell estate as a gift from her father, Col William St Andrew Warde-Aldam, in 1952, and she and her husband assumed the surname of Warde-Norbury by Royal Licence in 1958.

She leaves issue ~ William Mark Antony, born 29 Jul, 1962, (who succeeded to the Hooton Pagnell estate some years ago) and Alistair George, b 1966.

Hon Caroline Elizabeth Maud Partridge (nee Cust) 1928-2015

_. The Hon Caroline Partridge, who died 13 January, 2015, aged 86, was a scion of the Barons Brownlow (Baron, GB, cr 1776).

She was born the Hon Caroline Elizabeth Maud Cust, 5 Oct, 1928, the only daughter of the 6th Baron Brownlow, DL (1899-1978), of Belton House, near Grantham, by his 1st wife the former Katherine Kinloch, scion of the Kinloch baronets (Bt, Novia Scotia, 1686). Her father, a Lord in Waiting to King Edward VIII, accompanied the then Mrs Wallis Simpson to France during the Abdication Crisis, 1936, &c.

She married 15 May, 1954 (div 1973), John Arthur Partridge, son of Claud Partridge, by whom she had issue. She was Mayoress of Grantham, 1950-51.

Rory Wolfe Murray married firstly, in 1987, Marion Zorab, by whom he has issue. He is a grandson maternally of Sir Alec Douglas-Home, the Prime Minister 1963-64 (aka the disclaimed 14th Earl of Home, and later Baron Home of the Hirsel, &c.)

Theodore Alfred James Montagu (born 2015)

_.The Hon Pollyanna Mary Clare Montagu (b 1981, nee Harmsworth), wife of Lieutenant Timothy B.E.P. Montagu, RN (b 1982), gave birth to a son, Theodore Alfred James, at Winchester, 7 January, 2015, a brother for Amelia Faye Julia, who was born 8 March, 2011.

 

Timothy Montagu is the son of Peter Edward Gerald Body by his wife the former Lady Julia Frances Montagu (now deceased), and Pollyanna is the youngest dau of the 3rd Baron Harmsworth and Baroness Harmsworth.

Lt. Montagu has been adopted by his uncle and aunt, the 11th Earl and Countess of Sandwich.

_. Lucy Heathcoat Amory (nee Reid), wife of Simon Charles Heathcoat Amory (b 1982), scion of the Heathcoat Amory Baronets (Baronet, UK, cr 1874), gave birth to a son, George Richard, 30 December, 2014, a brother for Arthur.

Simon is the elder son of Charles William Heathcoat Amory (b 1945), of South Molton, Devon, and Mrs Harmony Joanna Heathcoat Amory (nee Lyell), of Wylye, Wiltshire, and Lucy Heathcoat Amory is the elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Reid, of Harpenden, Hertfordshire.

Camilla Dorothy Leigh-Pemberton (born 2015)

_.Saskia Anne Leigh-Pemberton (b 6 Aug 1977, nee Stirling-Aird), wife of Charles D. Leigh-Pemberton, scion of the landed family of that name,(and nephew of the life peer Baron Kingsdown, KG, PC), gave birth to a daughter Camilla Dorothy, 10 January, 2015, a sister for Elizabeth Helen, who was born 6 December, 2012.

Charles Leigh-Pemberton is a son of Nigel Leigh- Pemberton (b 1929), of Barfrestone, Kent, and Mrs Leigh-Pemberton, and Saskia, a scion of the LG family of Stirling-Aird of Kippendavie (descended from Stirling of Keir), is the 2nd daughter of Patrick Kenneth Stirling-Aird (b 10 Aug 1943), of Dunblane, Perthshire, by his wife the former Elizabeth Susan Wakeham.

Richard John Hannay Meade, OBE 1938-2015

_. Richard John Hannay Meade, OBE, equestrian, Olympic horse~man, who died 8 January, 2015, aged 76, was a former squeeze of the Princess Royal.

He was born 4 December, 1938, son of John Meade (1907-2005), by his wife, nee Watts; married 1977, Angela Dorothy Farquhar (b 1948), scion of the Farquhar baronets (Bt, GB, 1796), by whom he had issue, 3 sons and one dau. He is survived by his wife and two sons, James and Harry, and by a daughter, Lucy.

(The Telegraph obit says he's Richard John Hannay Meade, but Debrett's says "Hassan" not Hannay.)

Anne Louise Hoare (nee Deterding) 1926-2015

. Anne Louise Hoare {nee Deterding}, who died 5 January, 2015, aged 88, was the widow of Col Ronald Jack Hoare, OBE (b 1913)....

She was born 4 Oct, 1926, daughter of Ronald Deterding (1900-57), of Kelling Hall, Holt, Norfolk, by his wife, the former Ethel Louise Philbrick (1902-91) ~~~  Kin of Sir Henry Deterding, founder of Royal Dutch Shell ???

She married Colonel Hoare in 1948. Mother of Louise, Christopher & Marty.
