She was a daughter of the 17th Earl, sister of the 18th Earl (who died earlier this year) & aunt of the 19th Earl. She married 1966 Antony Stephen Pope Watney, who died in 1986. She leaves a son, Michael. Funeral at St Clement's Church, Powderham, Devon, 21 Oct.

. Elizabeth Caroline Hay [born 1983, nee Acland], wife of Timothy George Nicholas Hay (born 1980), gave birth to a son, Arthur Cuthbert Philip, 21 September, 2015.

Timothy Hay is the son of Andrew Nicholas John Hay (b 10 Oct, 1951), of Fulham, London, by his wife the former Virginia Jane Coats (b 27 Aug, 1954) (see Coats Baronetcy & Barony of Glentanar).

Elizabeth Hay [scion of the Acland Baronets, cr 1890], is a daughter of Peter John Acland (b 1954), of Berryville, Virginia, and Mrs Amanda Acland (nee Ryrie), of Gittisham, Devon. 

Timothy Hay is a grandson paternally of the late Sir (Alan) Philip Hay, KCVO, by his wife the former Lady Margaret Katharine Seymour, Woman of the Bedchamber to HM The Queen, scion of the Marquesses of Hertford (Peerage, GB, cr 1795), sister of the 8th Marquess, &c. 

The bride~to~be is a granddaughter of Maj-Gen Sir John Hugh Bevil Acland, KCB, CBE (1928-2006).

John St Aubyn Parker was born 29 May, 1923, son of the Hon John Holford Parker 1886-1955] by his wife the former Hon Marjory Katharine Elizabeth Alexandra St Aubyn, a dau of the 2nd Baron St Levan, and was a grandson of the 3rd Earl of Morley [1843-1905]; succeeded to the family honours upon the death of his uncle, the 5th Earl, 28 Apr, 1962; married 15 Oct 1955, Johanna Katherine, elder dau of Sir John Molesworth St Aubyn, 14th Baronet, by whom he had issue, a son and a daughter.

The peerage devolves upon his only son, Mark Lionel Parker, styled Viscount Boringdon, who was born 22 Aug 1956.

Ann Lady Erskine (died 2015)

. Ann, Lady Erskine, who died 15 September, 2015, aged 95, was the widow of Sir [Thomas] David Erskine, 5th Baronet [1912-2007] [Baronet, UK, cr 1821].

She was the former Ann Fraser-Tytler, daughter of Colonel Neil Fraser-Tytler, CBE, DSO and bar, DL (d 1937), of Aldourie Castle, Inverness, by his wife Christian Helen (b 23 Aug 1897), dau of John Campbell Shairp (d. 1913) &c, and married David Erskine in 1947, by whom she had issue, two sons Peter & William, and 1 dau Caroline (deceased 1976). Her elder son is Sir [Thomas] Peter Neil Erskine, 6th Bart.

The funeral takes place at Kirkaldy Crematorium, 1st Oct, 2015, followed by a service of thanksgiving at Crail Parish Church.

Nathaniel Kevin Billington 1970-2015

_. Nathaniel Kevin [Nat] Billington, the computer entrepreneur who designed the systems for No 10 Downing Street, Sky TV and the NHS, died from cancer, 1 September, 2015. He was 44.

Nat Billington was a grandson maternally of the 7th Earl of Longford, KG, PC [1905-2001]. He was born in 1970, the elder son of film director Kevin Billington by his wife the former [Lady] Rachel Mary Pakenham [born 1942], journalist, dau of the 7th Earl of Longford by his wife the former Elizabeth Harman. He married in 2000, Hannah Heyse-Moore, who survives him, with their two sons.

It is Mr Hick's second marriage. He married firstly, in 1990,Allegra Marina Tondato, by whom he has issue. His second bride to be is described in the Daily Mail as an "American fashionista" 17 years his junior.

Ashley Hicks is a godson of the late King of Sweden and of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Shamus Ogilvy is the elder son of the Hon James Donald Diarmid Ogilvy (b 28 Jan 1934), of Sedgebrook, Lincolnshire, by his late wife the former Magdalen Jane Ruth (June) Ducas (b 2 June 1938, d 3 Nov 2001), descended from the Barons Mowbray, Segrave and Stourton.

Alexandra Ogilvy is the former Alexandra Elizabeth Hope March Phillipps de Lisle, scion of that landed family, elder daughter of the late Julian Peter Alexander March Phillipps de Lisle (b 2 Feb 1936; d 19 Dec 1993) of Lisle, of Medbourne, Leicestershire, by his 2nd wife the former Diana Barbara Welchman. 

The infant is a great-nephew of the late Rt Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy, who, in 1963, wed Princess Alexandra of Kent, a first cousin of the Queen.

Adam Richard John Casson Chetwynd was born 2 Feb, 1935, son of the 9th Viscount [1904-65], by his first wife, the former Joan Gilbert Casson, and succeeded to the peerages, 12 June, 1965, upon his father's death. Married firstly, 19 Feb, 1966 [div 1974], Celia Grace Ramsay; married secondly, 15 Aug, 1975, Angela Mary McCarthy. From his first marriage he leaves two sons, and a daughter. The elder son, the Hon Adam Douglas Chetwynd [born 26 Feb 1969] succeeds his father as the 11th viscount.

_. Annette Pamela Worsley-Taylor, the debutante who became the driving force behind London Fashion Week, died 24 August, 2015. She was 71. Miss Worsley-Taylor was a scion of the Worsley-Taylor baronets [ Bt UK, cr 1917, extinct 1958], born 2 July, 1944, the only child of Sir John Worsley-Taylor, 3rd Baronet, Scots Guards, by his wife the former Anne Paget, dau of  Capt John Otho Paget, MC.  

The Worsley-Taylor baronetcy became extinct on the demise of her father in 1958. The 3rd Bt was divorced from Annette's mother and married in 1950, as his 2nd wife, Col Sir William Edmund Jaffray, 4th Baronet, who d 1953.

He was born at Worthing, Sussex, 6 January, 1931, son of Ted Kavanagh, a writer for the radio and creator of "It's That Man Again" a vehicle for the comedian Tommy Handley.

Trevor Oswin Lewis, CBE 1935-2015

Trevor Oswin Lewis, CBE, who died 5 August, 2015, aged 79, disclaimed, in 1977, the barony of Merthyr for life. He was the fourth Baron Merthyr (Peerage of the UK, cr 1911).

He was born 29 Nov, 1935, eldest son of the 3rd Baron Merthyr (1901-77), by his wife the former Violet Meyrick (1909-2003), scion of the Meyrick baronets; succeeded his father, 6 Apr, 1977, as a peer and baronet, but disclaimed the peerage for life three weeks later, 26 Apr, 1977.

Trevor Lewis married 18 April, 1964, Susan Jane, daughter of Arthur Birt-Llewellin, by whom he had issue, one son and three daughters.

He is succeeded in his baronetcy and peerage by his only son, the Hon David Trevor Lewis, who was born 21 Feb, 1977.

 The 18th Earl of Devon, a descendant of the victors of Agincourt who fought to preserve his ancestral seat, Powderham Castle, died 18 August, 2015. He was 73.

Hugh Rupert Courtenay, the heir male of the ancient Frankish house of Courtenay, was born 5 May, 1942, son of the 17th Earl of Devon (1916-98), by his wife the former Sybil Venetia Taylor (former wife of the earl's cousin, the 6th Earl of Cottenham); married 9 September, 1967, Diana Frances Watherston, eldest daughter of Jack Watherston, by whom he had issue, a son and three daughters. He succeeded his father in the family honours, 19 Nov, 1998; he served as a deputy lieutenant for the county of Devon and was later Vice Lord Lieutenant. He is succeeded by his only son, Charles Peregrine Courtenay, styled Lord Courtenay (born 14 Aug 1975), who is married to the American actress, Allison Langer, by whom he has issue.

following the disappearance of his father (who if still living is wanted for questioning by the police in connection with the murder of his children's nanny, Sandra Rivett), Mr Justice Morritt, sitting in the Chancery Division of the High Court on 11 Dec 1992, gave the Trustees of the then Lord Bingham liberty to administer the 7th Earl of Lucan's estate under the presumption that he was dead; leave was also granted to have the 7th Earl of Lucan's death sworn in the Family Division of the High Court; following the custom of succession in undisputed Irish peerages, Lord Bingham assumed his father's title as 8th Earl of Lucan and on 8 Dec 1998 he applied to the Lord Chancellor for a writ of summons to the House of Lords as Baron Bingham (a United Kingdom peerage created in 1934 for his great-grandfather) but was refused; it remains open to him to apply to the Registrar of Peerages for inclusion on the Peerage Roll as Earl of Lucan.

The Duke of Grafton is the son of the late James Oliver Charles FitzRoy, styled Earl of Euston (1947-2009), by his wife the former Lady Clare Amabel Margaret Kerr (b 1951), daughter of the 12th Marquess of Lothian (1922-2004).

Death of Lady Bramall

_. The Baroness Bramall, who died 22 July, 2015, aged 93, was the wife of Field Marshal the Baron Bramall, KG, GCB, OBE MC (b 18 Dec, 1923), a life baron since 1987.

She was the former Dorothy Avril Wentworth Vernon, daughter of Brig-Gen Henry Albemarle Vernon, DSO, of Stoke Bruerne Park, co Northampton, and married Edwin Noel Westby Bramall in 1949. She is survived by Lord Bramall and by a son, Nicolas and daughter, Sara.

She had a daughter from her second marriage, Sarah Jane Whyte.

She was born Rosemary Alice Montagu Douglas Scott, 3 Aug 1940, twin with her sister Frances (later Baroness Cranworth), third daughter of Lord William Walter Montagu Douglas Scott MC (1896-1958), by his wife Lady Rachel Douglas-Home, dau of the 13th Earl of Home and sister of the Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home, &c.

She was a granddaughter of the 7th Duke of Buccleuch, and niece of Lady Alice Montagu Douglas Scott (1901-2004), who, in 1935, married King George V's third son, Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester (1900-74).

Rosemary Montagu Douglas Scott married in 1978, (Samuel Alexander) Mark Collins, son of publisher Sir William Collins, by whom she had issue, Sampson William Francis (b 1982), and Benjamin Mark Timothy (b 1984).

Giles Peter Townsend 1942-2015

 Giles Peter Townsend, who died 7 July, 2015, aged 73, was the son of Group Capt Peter Woolridge Townsend, CVO, DSO, DFC (1914-1995), sometime Equerry to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, whose love affair with Princess Margaret in the 1950s caused the biggest royal scandal since the abdication in 1936.

He was born c 1942, son of Peter Townsend and his first wife the former (Cecil) Rosemary Pawle (1921-2004), later Marchioness Camden, wife of the 5th Marquess Camden (1899-1983).
