_. Joseph Guy Lubbock, artist and author, who died 22 January, 2019, aged 103, was a scion of the Barons Avebury.
He was born 20 May, 1915, the son of Brigadier-General Guy Lubbock (1870-1956), by his wife the former Lettice Isabella Mason (died 1980). He was a great-grandson of Sir John Lubbock, 3rd Baronet (1803-65).
He married 28 Apr, 1941, Ruth Cecilia Gurney (deceased), scion of that landed family and descended from the Ruggles-Brise baronets, by whom he had issue. At his death he left 24 descendants.
