The engagement has been announced between William Hew Dalrymple (born 1992) scion of the Earls of Stair, son of the Hon Michael Colin Dalrymple (born 1965), of Oxenfoord, Midlothian, by his wife the former Harriet Lucy Buxton (born 1962) scion of the Buxton baronets, and Sophie Anne Cotton O’Meara (born 1992) daughter of Joseph C O’Meara (b 1962) of Monks Kirby, Warwickshire, by his wife the former Tracey A Darcy.
William’s grandmother, Davina Countess of Stair, who died in 2017, was a niece of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
