—-. Sir William McAlpine, 6th Baronet, has died.
William Hepburn McAlpine was born in 1936, son of the 5th baronet (later the life peer as Baron McAlpine of Moffat (1907-90), by his wife the former Ella Garnett (1910-87): married twice, firstly in 1959, to Jill Benton Jones (1937-2004); married 2ndly, 2004, the former Judith Mary Sanderson.
Sir William is succeeded by his son fron his first marriage, Andrew, who was born in 1960.
