It is reported that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is dating again.
The woman at the centre of the rumours is Elizabeth Alison (Aliba) Bellingham, a British socialite and keen horsewoman known in Norfolk circles. She is a member of the north Norfolk social group known as the "Turnip Toffs" and the sister of Conservative life peer Lord Bellingham.
Interestingly, she is also believed to have a royal connection; her godmother was Frances Shand Kydd, mother of Diana, Princess of Wales, and Aliba is understood to have known Andrew since childhood.
Four years older than Andrew - born 15 September, 1956 - she is the only daughter of (Arthur) Henry Bellingham (1926-59), and his wife June Marion Cloudesley Smith (1926-2022), who married 2ndly, 29 March, 1962, Colonel Ian Bruce Baillie, Life Guards, Silver Stick in Waiting, and Lieutenant-Colonel of the Household Cavalry, and a cousin of Lord Burton.
Aliba is Lord Bellingham's only sibling.
Aliba married in 1989 (div 1999), Richard Charles Rowley (born 14 August, 1959), son of Sir Charles Robert Rowley, 7th & 8th Baronet (1926-2008), and his wife the former Astrid Massey, daughter of Sir Arthur Massey, CBE (1894-1980), Hon Physician to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.
Aliba's ex husband succeeded his father, 11 May, 2008, as Sir Richard Rowley, Bt.
Aliba Bellingham said the pair 'get on well' as she addressed ongoing speculation that she is dating the disgraced former Duke
t's been nine months since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor moved to Sandringham following his eviction from Royal Lodge.
Aliba has been seen visiting Andrew's Norfolk home, Marsh Farm. But on Saturday, she denied she was romantically involved with the former Prince.
Andrew's rumoured new girlfriend: 'We get on well'. Her family is not without its own historic notoriety. Her ancestor John Bellingham murdered the prime minister Spencer Perceval in the House of Commons.
She told the Mail on Sunday: "We hang out from time to time and talk about horses and dogs – that's what we have in common. We get on well. He loves his horses.
"I'm not the sort of person to dwell on things in another person's past. I think Andrew has found Norfolk to be a very welcoming area and that he'll enjoy living here."
The Mail on Sunday refers to Andrew as 'the former Duke' - and although he has been removed from the Roll of the House of Lords the former prince remains Baron Killyleagh, Earl of Inverness, and Duke of York. The removal of peerages requires at Act of Parliament.
