Arthur George Stobart Evans-Freke

Marina Alexandra Evans-Freke (nee Whetherly) (b. 1976), wife since 2003 of Dominic Ralfe Cecil Evans-Freke, (b. 1969), gave birth to a son, Arthur George Stobart, 7 November, 2006, a brother for Benedict Robin Harrington,who was b. 20 October, 2004. Dominic is the only son of the Hon Michael Peter Evans-Freke, (b. 1942), of Chilcompton, Somerset, and the Hon Mrs Michael Evans-Freke, (nee Gurney), of Lower Farm, Bishopstone, Wiltshire; & Marina is the only daughter of the late Mr Robin Christopher Whetherly, [1947-99], late the Royal Horse Guards, and of Mrs Sally Ann Whetherly, [nee Price], of Evershot, Dorset. Dominic's father is the eldest son and heir of the 11th Baron Carbery, and he is therefore in direct line to inherit the peerage (of Ireland).The bride is also of noble stock. Her late father was the second son of Lt-Col. Wiliam Erskine Stobart Whetherly, who m. 1938, the Hon. Rosemary Gertrude Alexandra Lever, second daughter of the 2nd Viscount Leverhulme.

Bram is the only son of Meneer and Mevrouw ED de Guchteneire, of Maastricht, & Alexandra is the younger daughter of the Hon. Gerald Christopher Turton (b. 1937), and Mrs Turton, of Upsall Castle, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and granddaughter paternally of the late Baron Tranmire, MC, PC (1903-94).

Emily Baring

Katie Baring (nee Bowen), wife of Ned Baring (b. 1975), scion of the Barons Ashburton, gave birth to a daughter, Emily, 7 November, 2006, a sister for Isabella, who was b. 28 March, 2004.
Ned Baring is the second son of Guy Esmond Baring, (b. 1945), and the late Mrs Raina Baring, (nee Campbell), who died in 1979.
Ned's paternal grandfather was Lt-Col Esmond Charles Baring, OBE (1914-63), by his wife Zalia (d. 1986), daughter of Sir Harold Edward Snagge, KBE, and descended from the Barons Avebury.
Ned's great-grandfather, Lt-Col the Hon. Guy Victor Baring, Coldstream Guards, MP (1873-1916), m. Olive Alethea Smith, of the Barons Bicester, and a kinswoman of Queen Elizabeth, consort of King George VI.
Ned Baring's great-great-grandfather was the 4th Baron Ashburton (1835-89).
Katie Baring is the elder daughter of Mr & Mrs Christopher Bowen.

Lady Martell, who died 19 October, 2006, was the 1st wife of Vice-Admiral Sir Hugh Colenso Martell, KBE (1966), CBE (1957), CB (1963), Chief of Allied Staff NATO Forces in the Mediterranean, 1965-67.She was born in 1920 as Marguerite Isabelle White, daughter of Sir Dymoke White, 2nd Baronet (cr. 1922), and married Sir Hugh Martell as his 1st wife in 1941. They divorced in 1983. She leaves issue.

The Hon. Mrs William Iliffe, who died 8 November, 2006, aged 95, was the widow of the Hon William Henry Richard Iliffe (1911-59), a son of the 1st Baron Iliffe. She was the former Christine Marie Baker, daughter of Alfred Eaton Baker, MD, of Hastings, Sussex, and married William Iliffe in 1940. He died in 1959. She is survived by 2 sons, (i) Robert Peter Richard, 3rd Baron Iliffe (b. 22 Nov 1944), and the Hon John David Iliffe (b. 1947)Service of Thanksgiving, Saturday 9 December, 2006, at St. Mary's Church, Aldworth, Berkshire.
