The engagement was announce 6 May, 2026, between Charles Nelson (Charlie) Cazalet (born 1987), son of (Charles) Julian Cazalet (born November, 1947), of Holland Park, London, and his wife the former Jennifer C (Jenny) Little, & Marie Hanes, daughter of Mr and Mrs Patrick Hanes, of Timisoara, Romania.
The Cazalet family were Huguenots who originated from Sumène in the Cevennes region of southern France. Charlie is a descendant of Estienne Cazalet (1659-1721) who migrated to settle among the Huguenot community of Spitalfields in London; a distant cousin also descended from Estienne was Peter Cazalet, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s racehorse trainer and P G Wodehouse’s son-in-law.
