The Hon Dame Shan Legge-Bourke, DCVO, who has died aged 82, was a Lady -in -Waiting to the Princess Royal, and Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff of Powys.
She was a scion of the Barons Glanusk, of Glanusk Park, Crickhowell.
She was born Elizabeth Shan Josephine Bailey, 10 September, 1943, daughter of the 3rd Baron Glanusk (1891-1948), of Glanusk Park, and his wife the former Margaret Eldrydd Shoubridge (died 2002). Her mother married secondly, 1966, the 1st Viscount De L’Isle, VC, KG (1909-1991).
She married 2 June, 1964, William Nigel Henry Legge-Bourke (1939-2009), scion of the Earls of Dartmouth, son of Maj. Edward Alexander Henry Legge-Bourke, and his wife the former Catherine Jean Grant, by whom she had a son, Harry and two daughters, Alexandra (Tiggy), and Zara.
She was appointed DCVO in 2015.
