Susan Kathleen Lowther-Pinkerton died 24 December, 2023, aged 99.
The former Susan Kathleen Leslie-Smith was born in 1924, a daughter of Brigadier Colin Leslie-Smith (1887-1942), and his wife the former Kathleen Sophie Moxon (1899-1983); and married in 1953, Anthony Hull Lowther-Pinkerton (1928-1992), son of Anthony Trevor Hull Lowther-Pinkerton (previously Pinkerton) (1891-1955), and his wife the former Dorothy Mary Golding Lowther (1896-1965), scion of that landed gentry family, and descended from the Ponsonby Viscounts Duncannon.
She leaves issue a son, Anthony James (Jamie) Lowther-Pinkerton, LVO, MBE (born 1960), sometime an extra equerry to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and a daughter Sarah Louise (born 1960).
