Elisabeth Jane Sandys died 12 August, 2025, aged 82, was born 16 March, 1943, a daughter of John Besley Martin, CBE (19061-1982) and his wife the former Muriel Pattison (1916-2002); and married 1970, the Hon Julian George Winston Sandys, QC (1936-1997), a grandson of the Rt Hon Sir Winston Churchill, KG (1874-1965), son of the life peer the Baron Duncan-Sandys, CH, PC (1908-87), and his wife the former Diana Spencer Churchill (1909-1963), by whom she had three sons, Duncan (b 1973), Jonathan (1975-2018), and Roderick (1977-2007), and a daughter, Lucy (b 1971).
