The descent of our dukes from King Henry VII

 All the current dukes in the peerage of England, Scotland, Ireland, Great Britain and the United Kingdom, with the exception of one, can trace their descent from the first Tudor King Henry VII. Some have multiple descents, but I show only one line here. Several dukes are descended in the direct male line from King Charles II and a mistress, and I have attempted to show a legitimate Royal descent wherever possible.

Dukes in the Peerage of England descending from Henry VII:-

Beaufort, Duke of (E, 1682); Bedford, Duke of (E, 1694); Cornwall, Duke of (E, 1337) - the dukedom is held by the Heir Apparent from the later of his birth or his parent's succession to the Throne; Devonshire, Duke of (E, 1694); Grafton, Duke of (E, 1675); Marlborough, Duke of (E, 1702); Norfolk, Duke of (E, 1483); Richmond, Duke of (E, 1675); Rutland, Duke of (E, 1703); St Albans, Duke of (E, 1683/4).

Dukes in the Peerage of Scotland descending from Henry VII:-

Argyll, Duke of (S, 1701); Atholl, Duke of (S, 1703); Buccleuch, Duke of (S,1663); Hamilton, Duke of (S, 1643); Lennox, Duke of (S, 1675) - the dukedom has been held by the Dukes of Richmond since 1675, when the 1st Duke of Richmond was created Lord Torbolton, Earl of Darnley and Duke of Lennox; Montrose, Duke of (S, 1707); Queensberry, Duke of (S, 1683/4) - the dukedom has been held by the Dukes of Buccleuch since 1810, when the 3rd Duke of Buccleuch inherited the Lordship of Douglas of Kinmount, Middlebie and Dornock, the Viscountcy of Nith, Thorolwold and Ross, the Earldom of Drumlanrig and Sanquhar, the Marquessate of Dumfriesshire, and the Dukedom of Queensberry; Rothesay, Duke of (S, 1398) - like the Dukedom of Cornwall in England and the Earldom of Carrick in Scotland, the Dukedom of Rothesay is held by the Heir Apparent to the Throne from the moment of his birth or his parent's accession to the Throne if this is later; Roxburghe, Duke of (S, 1707)

Dukes in the Peerage of Ireland descended from Henry VII:-

Abercorn, Duke of (I, 1868); Leinster, Duke of (I, 1766).

 Dukes in the Peerage of Great Britain descended from Henry VII:-

Brandon, Duke of (GB, 1711) - the dukedom has been held by the Dukes of Hamilton since 1711, when the 4th Duke of Hamilton was created Duke of Brandon; Manchester, Duke of (GB, 1719); Northumberland, Duke of (GB, 1766);

 Dukes in the Peerage of the United Kingdom descended from Henry VII:-

Argyll, Duke of (UK, 1892) - the dukedom has been held by the Dukes of Argyll since 1892, when the 8th Duke of Argyll in the Peerage of Scotland was created Duke of Argyll in the Peerage of the United Kingdom; Cambridge, Duke of (UK, 2011); Fife, Duke of (UK, 1900); Gloucester, Duke of (UK, 1928); Gordon, Duke of (UK, 1876) - the dukedom has been held by the Dukes of Richmond since 1876, when the 6th Duke of Richmond was created Earl of Kinrara and Duke of Gordon; Kent, Duke of (UK, 1934); Sussex, Duke of (UK, 2018); Sutherland, Duke of (UK, 1833); Wellington, Duke of (UK, 1814); Westminster, Duke of (UK, 1874); York, Duke of (UK, 1986).

Duke for whom I can find no direct descent from Henry VII:-

Somerset (Peerage of England, 1546/7). A line of descent may exist but I cannot find one. Many of the abovementioned dukes have Seymour ancestors, and descents from Dukes of Somerset, but the current 19th holder of the peerage seems to have evaded a Tudor descent. Henry VIII's third Queen was of course Jane Seymour, an ancestral aunt.
