The Baron Horam, life peer, died 24 July, 2026, aged 87.
John Rhodes Horam was a politician who represented three parties in Parliament. He was Labour MP for Gateshead West 1970-1983, but defected to SDP in 1981; and was Conservative MP for Orpington, 1992-2010.
On 4 September 2013 Horam was created a working life peer as Baron Horam, of Grimsargh in the County of Lancashire.
He was born 7 March, 1939, son of Sidney Horam, and his wife Catherine Harkness, and married in 1987, Mrs Judith Marian Jopp, former wife of Peter M. Jopp, and daughter of ____Jackson.
