She was b. 31 Oct 1914; married 7 May, 1943, Lt-Col John Edward Broke Freeman (d. 1986), son of Sir Philip Horace Freeman, KCVO, KBE, by whom she had one son, Charles, and 2 daughters, Mary & Virginia. Career:- JP for Suffolk; President Suffolk Red Cross, 1972-84. She lived in Aldingbourne, West Sussex. The funeral took place at the Cathedral church of St Philip Neri, Arundel, 9 June, 2006, followed by burial at Arundel.

John Alan St. John Brodrick, who died 4 June, 2006, aged 81, was a grandson maternally of the 20th Baron Hastings {Baron in the peerage of England, created in 1290}. He was b. 1924, son of Alan Houghton Brodrick by his wife the former Hon. Hester Winifred Astley (b. 1899, d.?) daughter of the 20th Baron Hastings (1857-1904) by his wife the Hon Elizabeth Evelyn Harbord (d. 1957), daughter of the 5th Baron Suffield.

Sir Charles John Markham, 3rd Baronet
Sir Charles John Markham, 3rd Baronet, died at his home in Nairobi, Kenya, 5 June, 2006. He was aged 81. He was born 2 July, 1924, the son of Sir Charles Markham, 2nd Baronet, by his wife Gwladys, daughter of the Hon. Rupert Beckett, scion of the Barons Grimthorpe. He was educated at Eton. Career:-->served in the Second World War as a Lieutenant in the 11th Hussars (and was mentioned in despatches); Vice-Chairman, Nairobi Co. Council, 1953-55; Member of the Legislative Council, Kenya 1955-60; President, Royal Agricultural Society, Kenya, 1958; KStJ 1973; succeeded to the baronetcy (created in 1911) on the demise of his father, 1952. He married in 1949, Valerie (died 1998), the only daughter of Lt.-Col. E. Barry-Johnston, of Makuyu, Kenya, by whom he had 2 sons and 1 daughter. The baronetcy now devolves upon his elder son, Arthur David Markham, b. 6 Dec, 1950.

Cécile Henriette Howard
Cécile Henriette Howard (née Geoffroy-Dechaume), who died 29 May, 2006, at Jerome Cottage, Marlow Common, Buckinghamshire, was the widow of the diplomat, the Hon. Edmund Bernard Carlo Howard, CMG, MVO (1909-2005), fourth son of the 1st Baron Howard of Penrith, GCB, GCMG, CVO (himself a scion of the Dukes of Norfolk). She was the former Cécile Henriette Geoffroy-Dechaume, daughter of Charles Geoffroy-Dechaume, of Valmondois, France, and married Edmund Howard in 1936. She leaves issue. The Funeral Mass is on Wednesday 14 June, 2006, at St Peter's RC Church in Marlow.

Cissie Baroness Kershaw
Cissie Baroness Kershaw, who died at Newquay, Cornwall, 15 May, 2006, aged 99, was widow of the 2nd Baron Kershaw (1904-61). She was the former Cissie Burness Smythe, daughter of Charles E. Smythe, of Frien Barnet, and married the then Sub-Lieutenant Herbert Kershaw, RN, in 1933. Her father-in-law, Fred Kershaw, was appointed to Clement Attlee's administration in 1947 as a Lord-in-Waiting to the King, and was ennobled as Baron Kershaw, of Prestwich, Co. Palatine of Lancaster, 1947. He died in Feb, 1961, and was succeeded by his eldest son Herbert, as 2nd Baron, who died 5 months later, and was succeeded by his next brother, Edward Aubrey Kershaw, who died in the following year, when the peerage passed to Edward's son, Edward John, the 4th Baron, b. 1936. Baroness Kershaw's funeral took place at the Penmount Crematorium, Truro, 30 May 2006.

Mira M. Guinness (nee Maini), wife of the Hon. Rory Michael Benjamin Guinness (b. 12 Dec, 1974) younger son of the late 3rd Earl of Iveagh and of Miranda Countess of Iveagh, gave birth to a daughter, Aoife Maya Theadora, 8 May, 2006.

She was the former Joyce Marian Beer, daughter of Stanley Graham Beer, of Northernhay, Bickley, Kent, and married a son of the 3rd Baronet in 1941.
