Baron Leach of Fairford

The life peerage awarded to Charles Guy Rodney Leach has been gazetted in the name, style and title of Baron LEACH of FAIRFORD, of Fairford in the County of Gloucestershire. (Source: Daily Telegraph 8 June, 2006). He was b. 1 June 1934, son of Charles Harold Leach and Nora Eunice Ashworth, and educated at Harrow and Balliol College, Oxford. Career: Director, Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd from 1984; Deputy Chairman, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc from 1997; married (i) 1963, Felicity Ballantyne (div 1989) by whom he had 2 sons and 3 daughters; married (ii) 1993, Mrs Jessica Violet Douglas-Home, painter, freelance theatre, set and costume designer (she was b. 7 Feb 1944) daughter of John Gwynne by his wife Patricia Morrison-Bell (of the Morrison-Bell Baronets) and married (i) 1966, Charles Cospatrick Douglas-Home (b. 1 Sept, 1937; d. 29 Oct 1995. Source: The Times 30 Oct 1985) sometime editor of The Times, scion of the Earls of Home, by whom she had 2 sons.
