Sir Mark Simon Robert Heathcote, 10th Baronet, OBE, died 29 August, 2025. He was 84.
He was a Counsellor, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 1971-94, a MI6 officer, and was appointed OBE in 1988.
He was born 1 March, 1941, son of Brigadier General Sir Gilbert Simon Heathcote, 9th Baronet, CBE (1913-2014), of the Coach House, Tillington, Sussex, and his wife the former Patricia Margaret Leslie (1917-2012); and succeeded to the baronetcy (cr GB 1733), on his father's death, 15 April, 2014.
He married 15 May, 1976, Susan Mary Ashley, daughter of Lt-Col. George Ashley, of Rosamondford Lodge, Aylesbeare, Devon, by whom he had issue, two sons, Alastair (born 18 Aug, 1977), and Nicholas (born 21 July, 1979).
He is succeeded in the baronetcy by his elder son.
