Sir Tresham Lever, 3rd Baronet 1932-2021

Sir Tresham Lever, 3rd [and last] Baronet, died 28 October, 2021. He was 89.

Sir Tresham's publications include: The Naturalized Animals of the British Isles, published 1977; Naturalized Mammals of the World, published 1985; Naturalized Birds of the World, published 1987; The Mandarin Duck, published 1990; They Dined on Eland: the story of the acclimatisation societies, published 1992; Naturalized Animals: the ecology of successfully introduced species, published 1994; Naturalized Fishes of the World, published 1996; The Cane Toad: the history and ecologist of a successful colonist, published 2001; Natturalized Reptiles and Amphibians of the World, published 2003.

Tresham Christopher Arthur Lindsay Lever was born 9 January, 1932, son of Sir Tresham Joseph Philip Lever, 2nd Baronet [1900-1975], and his wife Mrs Frances Parker [1896-1959], who was widow of Cecil Parker, of Walton Hall, co Lancaster, and daughter of [Joseph Hamilton] Lindsay Goodwin.

He succeeded his father in the baronetcy [cr UK, 1911], 30 April, 1975.

Sir Tresham married firstly, 11 Aug, 1970 [div 1974] Susan Mary Nicholson [born 1941], scion of that Irish landed gentry family, daughter of John Armytage Nicholson [1905-73], and his wife the former Patricia Bertram [Patita] Bourke [1915-98]; married 2ndly, 6 Nov, 1975, Linda Wightman McDowell, daughter of James Jepson McDowell, of Tennessee, United States.
