Sir Hugh Guy Cubitt, CBE 1928-2020
_. Sir Hugh Cubitt, CBE, who died 6 February, 2020, aged 91, was a former Lord Mayor of Westminster and cousin of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
Hugh Guy Cubitt was born 2 July, 1928, son of Lieutenant-Col the Hon Charles Guy Cubitt [1903-79], by his wife the former Rosamond Mary Edith Cholmeley [1904-84], scion of the Cholmeley baronets, and was a grandson of the 2nd Baron Ashcombe [1867-1947].
He was educated at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and Greenwich, and was a naval cadet in the closing months of the Second World War. He served as a Lieut [RN] in the Korean War 1949-51. Elected to Westminster City Council in 1963, and later became its leader. He served as Lord Mayor of Westminster 1977-78. In 1983 he was knighted and served as High Sheriff of Surrey in that year.

_. The Lord Sheldon, PC, a life Baron, died 2 February, 2020. He was 96.
Robert Edward Sheldon was Labour MP for Ashton Under Lyne, 1964-2001; served as Financial Secretary to the Treasury in the Wilson and Callaghan administrations, 1975-79; sworn of the Privy Council in 1977, and created a life peer upon standing down as an MP.
Robert Sheldon was born 13 Sept, 1923.

Lady Hugh Smith 1939-2020
_. Lady Hugh Smith, who died 29 January, 2020, aged 80, was the widow of Sir Andrew Colin Hugh Smith [1931-2012], chairman of the London Stock Exchange 1988-94.
She was the former Venetia Flower, born 21 April, 1939, daughter of Peter Hugh Flower [1910-93], by his wife the former Lydia Josephine Huth, scion of that landed gentry family.
Venetia's grandfather, Hugh Duncombe Flower [1878-1950], married Ida Hamilton [1883-1970], scion of the Dukes of Abercorn. She married Andrew Hugh Smith in 1964. He was a scion of the Smith of Midhurst landed gentry family and thus a kinsman of HM The Queen. Two sons of the marriage.
A Memorial Service takes place at St Leonard's Church, Grendon Underwood, 18 Apr, 2020.
