Baroness Hill-Norton

The Baroness Hill-Norton, who died at Lordington Park, 28 September, 2006, aged 89, was the widow of Admiral of the Fleet Baron Hill-Norton, GCB (1915-2004).
She was the former Margaret Eileen Linstow, daughter of Carl Adolph Linstow, and married the then Peter Hill-Norton in 1936. He died 16 May, 2004. She was the mother of a daughter, Carla, and a son, Vice-Admiral the Hon. Sir Nicholas Hill-Norton, KCB
Funeral at St Mary's Church, Newton Valence, Hampshire, 9 October, 2006.

Dowager Countess of Lytton

The Dowager Countess of Lytton, who died at Wellcross Grange Nursing Home, near Horsham, 24 September, 2006, aged 90, was the widow of the 4th Earl of Lytton (1900-85).
She was the former Clarissa Mary Palmer, daughter of Brigadier-General Cyril Eustace Palmer, CB, CMG, DSO, and a descendant of the Blakiston Baronets, and married Lord Lytton in 1946. She leaves issue including the 5th Earl (b. 7 June, 1950).
Funeral Mass and interment, 13 October, 2006, at Friary Church of SS Francis and Anthony, Haslett Avenue, Crawley, West Sussex.

Christian Lady Innes, widow of 16th Baronet

Christian Lady Innes, who died at her home, 24 September, 2006, aged 82, was the 2nd wife and widow of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Berowald Innes of Balvenie, 16th Baronet, OBE.
She was the former Elizabeth Christian Watson, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Henry Watson, DSO, and married Sir Berowald in 1961. He died in 1988.

June, Lady Horlick 1926-2006

June Lady Horlick, who died 24 September, 2006, at Henley-on-Thames, was the widow of Sir John James Macdonald Horlick, 5th Baronet (1922-95).She was born in 1926 as June Cory-Wright, daughter of Douglas Cory-Wright, CBE (1901-87), a scion fo the Cory-Wright Baronets (cr. 1903), by his wife Margaret Levy, and married Sir John in 1948. She leaves a son, Sir James, 6th Baronet, and daughters, Harriet and Araminta. A Thanksgiving Service will be held at St Nicholas Church Remenham Henley-on- Thames on Friday 6 October, 2006.

Baroness Oranmore & Browne

Baroness Oranmore & Browne, who died 24 September, 2006, at the age of 87, was the 3rd wife and widow of the 4th Baron Oranmore & Browne (b. 21 Oct 1901; d. 7 Aug 2002).
She was the 1930s film actress Sally Gray, who was born Constance Vera Stevens, at Holloway, north London 14 February, 1919.
She married Dominick Geoffrey Edward Browne, 4th Baron Oranmore & Browne, in 1951, and settled at Castle Mac Garrett, Co Mayo, and afterwards in the 1960s, they settled in a flat in Eaton Place, London. When Lord Oranmore and Browne died, aged 100, in 2002, days after he and his wife had attended at a party in the Ritz, he had been the longest serving peer in the Lords (where he had never spoken) until ejected by Tony Blair's reforms.

Charles Butter is a brother of the Countess of Dalhousie, and a first cousin of the Duchesses of Abercorn & Westminster, and is a grandson maternally of Major-General Sir Harold Augustus Wernher, 3rd Bt, GCVO, by his wife Lady Zia Wernher, daughter of HIH Grand Duke Michael of Russia and his morganatic wife Countess de Torby, &c.

Jamie Kidd

Catherine B. Kidd (nee Kemeny), wife of Jack Edward Kidd (b. 1973), gave birth to her sixth child, a daughter, Jamie, in 2006. The baby is her fourth with husband Jack Kidd (she has two older children, Ashley, 18, and Autumn, 14, from a previous marriage).The other Kidd offspring are Jaden Rachel K Kidd, a daughter, b. 2002; John Aitken C. Kidd (known as Jack), b. 2003; & Jackson, b. Oct. 2004. Jack Kidd is brother of the super-model Jodie Kidd, and of the Countess of Mornington. Jack's grandmother, the Hon. Janet Aitken (dau of the 1st Baron Beaverbrook), was the wife, between 1927 and 1934, of Ian Douglas Campbell, later 11th Duke of Argyll. Before settling on Jack's grandfather, Maj. Thomas Kidd, Janet's second husband was the Hon. William Montagu, son of the 9th Earl of Sandwich.

Michael St John May was born 26 September, 1931, son of the 2nd Baron, by his wife Roberta, daughter of George Ricardo Thoms, and was educated at Wycliffe College, Gloucestershire, & Magdalene College, Cambridge.
Career:-> 2nd Lieutenant Royal Signals 1950; succeeded to the peerage on the demise of his father, 1950.
Married firstly, 1958 (div. 1963) Dorothea Catherine Ann, daughter of Charles McCarthy, of Boston, United States; married secondly, 1963, Jillian Mary, daughter of Albert Edward Shipton, of Beggars Barn, Shutford, Oxfordshire.
He is survived by his 2nd wife, and a son and a daughter from the 2nd marriage. The peerage now devolves upon his only son, the Hon. Jasper Bertram St John May, b. 24 Oct, 1965.

The Lady Mariegold Magdalene Jamieson, who died 18 September, 2006, aged 87, was a sister of the late 17th Duke of Norfolk, KG, GCVO, CB, CBE, MC.
She was born in 1919, daughter of Bernard Edward, 3rd Baron Howard of Glossop, MBE (1885-1972), by his wife, Mona (in her own right) Baroness Beaumont (who d. 1971). In 1975 her brother succeeded his cousin as Premier Duke and Earl in the Peerage of England, and hereditary Earl Marshal. He died in 2002.
She married 1957, Gerald James Auldjo Jamieson (who died in 1992), son of the late Sir Archibald Auldjo Jamieson, KBE, MC, and had issue, two sons, Simon (b. 1959), and James (b. 1963).
Funeral Mass at St. Mary's, Cadogan Street, SW3, 27 September, 2006, followed by burial at Bintree Norfolk.

Valerie Middleton (nee Glassborow) 1924-2006

Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton is grieving following the death of her grandmother.
Valerie Middleton, who was circa 82, died suddenly at Andover, Hampshire, 13 September, 2006.
At the age of 22 the then Valerie Glassborow married pilot instructor Peter Middleton, son of a Leeds solicitor, at Adel Church, Leeds, West Yorkshire, 7 December, 1946. Their son, Michael, Kate's father, was born at Chapel Allerton, Leeds, in 1949.
It's a double blow for Kate who has lost both grandmothers in a matter of weeks. Her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Goldsmith, 71, died from lung cancer, 21 July, and Kate read a poem at the funeral.
Mrs Middleton's funeral takes place at Thatcham, Berkshire, close to the home of Kate's parents, 22 September, 2006.

Dorothy Goldsmith, 71, lost her four-month battle with lung cancer. Kate, 24, who has been dating Wills for nearly five years, had visited her several times over the past few weeks.A pal last night said: “Kate and her grandmother shared many happy times, especially after Dorothy’s husband Ron died three years ago.” Dorothy died 21 July, 2006, and Kate was brave enough to read a poem at her funeral last week. The pal added: “Kate is still tearful.”

David William Anthony Blyth Macpherson was born 23 January, 1924, son of the 1st Baron by his wife Jill (died 1956), daughter of Sir George Rhodes, 1st Baronet, and was educated at Eton and Jesus College, Cambridge. Career: -> served in the RAFVR during WW2; Motoring Correspondent of The Field, 1954-2002; Member of the British Parliamentary Delegation to Austria, 1964; President, Institute of Freight Forwarders, 1974-75; President, Guild of Motoring Writers from 1971; President, Guild of Experienced Motorists, 1980-86; President, National Breakdown Recovery Club, 1982-96; Pres, Driving Instructors' Association, 1982-2002; President, Vehicle Builders' and Repairers' Association from 1983: &c. William is the son of the late Mr John Roscoe and of Mrs Gerard Kenny, of Hartfield, East Sussex, and Belinda is the eldest daughter of Mr David Anthony Nutting (b. 1944), of Terling, Essex, by his wife, the former Tessa Anne Mordaunt.

Belinda is a granddaughter paternally of the Rt Hon Sir Anthony Nutting, 3rd Baronet (by his wife Gillian Strutt, of the Barons Rayleigh); and is a granddaughter maternally of Lt-Col Sir Nigel Mordaunt, 13th Baronet.
