Benjamin Guy Dudley Ryder, who died 27 November, 2024, aged 90, was a scion of the Earls of Harrowby.
He was born 19 May, 1934, eldest son (twin with his brother James) of Major Dudley Claud Douglas Dudley Ryder (1901-1986), and his first wife the former Nancy Edith Baker (later wife of Lord Ronald Graham, a younger son of the 6th Duke of Montrose. She died 1985).
He was descended paternally from the 1st Earl of Harrowby (1762-1847).
He married 8 Oct, 1960, Philippa Mary Cunningham, daughter of Alan Maitland Cunningham, by whom he had issue, two sons, Douglas and Guy, and a daughter, Vanessa.
