He was born in New York, 28 April, 1929, son of Philip Flyer and his wife the former Sadie Weiss, and married 4 June, 1953, Jill Mary FitzClarence (born 6 February, 1928), descended from King William IV and the actress Dorothea Jordan, daughter of Edward Charles FitzClarence (1899-1983), and his wife the former Monica Sheila Harrington Grayson (who died 5 Oct, 1958).
His marriage to Jill FitzClarence was annulled in 1960, and she became Lady Jill on her father's succession to the earldom of Munster, 26 August, 1975.
He married 2ndly, 1961, Violet Derry.
