Capt Charles Robert Acland, Grenadier Guards, who died 22 January, 2024, aged 86, was a scion of the Acland baronets. He was born 17 September, 1937, third son of Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur William Acland, OBE (1897-1992), and his wife the former Violet Gwendolen Grimston (1903-1984), scion of the Earls of Verulam, and was unmarried.
