The 3rd Viscount Tenby 1927-2023

 The 3rd Viscount Tenby died 11 June, 2023. He was 95.

 William Lloyd George, grandson of the prime minister David Lloyd George was the 3rd Viscount (cr 1957), and an army officer. Tenby was elected one of the initial ninety hereditary peers to remain in the House of Lords after the passing of the House of Lords Act 1999 until his retirement in 2015.

He was born 7 November, 1927, second son of Gwilym Lloyd George, 1st Viscount Tenby (1894-1967), who was Member of Parliament (Liberal) for Pembrokeshire 1922-24 and 1929-50 and (Liberal then Conservative) for Newcastle-upon-Tyne North 1951-57; Junior Whip 1924; Parliamentary Under Secretary to the Board of Trade 1931 and 1939-41; Minister of Food 1941-42 and 1951-54; Minister of Fuel and Power 1942-45;  Home Secretary and Minister for Welsh Affairs 1954-57, by his wife the former Edna Gwenfron Jones (who died 1971).

William Lloyd George succeeded as 3rd Viscount Tenby on the demise of his elder brother, David, 2nd Viscount, 14 July, 1983.

He married 23 April, 1955, Ursula Diana Ethel Medlicott (born 1929), who died in October, 2022.

Viscount Tenby leaves issue, a son, the Hon Gwilym Lloyd George (born 19 Oct, 1962), who succeeds as 4th Viscount, and two daughters, the Hon Sara (b 10 Sept, 1957), and the Hon Clare (b 2 March, 1961).
