The Baron Rogers of Riverside, CH 1933-2021

 The Baron Rogers of Riverside, CH, life peer, the architect, died 18 December, 2021. He was 88.

Lord Rogers of Riverside was perhaps best known for his work on the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Lloyd's building and Millennium Dome, both in London, the Senedd building, in Cardiff, and the European Court of Human Rights building, in Strasbourg. He was awarded the RIBA Gold Medal, the Thomas Jefferson Medal, the RIBA Stirling Prize, the Minerva Medal, and Pritzker Prize.

Richard George Rogers was born in Florence, 23 July, 1933, son of William Nino Rogers [1906-03] and his wife the former Ermengarde Gairinger.

He married firstly, 1960 [div] Susan Jane [Su] Brumwell [born 22 Feb, 1939], daughter of Marcus and Irene Brumwell; married 2ndly, 1973, Rith Elias, CBE [born 7 July, 1948], a New York born chef who owns and runs the Michelin starred Italian restaurant The River Café in Hammersmith, London.

Lord Rogers leaves five children.
