His Honour Judge Charles William Byers, who died 31 August, 2021, was a son of the life peer, the Baron Byers, OBE, PC, DL [1915-84], the Liberal party politician as Frank Byers, and his wife the former Joan Elizabeth Oliver.
He married in 2002, Mary L.E. Ilett, by whom he had two sons, Jonathan and George.
