Sir Albert Cahn, 2nd Baronet 1924-2021

_. Sir Albert Cahn, 2nd Baronet, died 1 January, 2021. He was 96.

Albert Jonas Cahn was born 27 June, 1924, son of Sir Julien Cahn, 1st Baronet [1882-1944], and his wife the former Phyllis Muriel Wolfe.

His father, a businessman and philanthropist, created a baronet in 1934, and died 26 September, 1944. The honour was made ostensibly for Sir Julien's charity and services to agriculture. However, it was actually bestowed for secretly providing £30,000 to the Conservative Government to ensure honours salesman Maundy Gregory stayed out of Britain.

Sir Albert married 16 March, 1948, Malka Bluestone [who died 2001], daughter of Reuben Bluestone, of Angmering, Sussex, by whom he had issue, two sons and two daughters. The elder son, Julien Michael Cahn, born 15 January, 1951, succeeds to the baronetcy.
