Celia Hanbury, who died 13 January, 2021, aged 86, was a scion of the Earls of Lauderdale.
She was born Celia Maitland-Heriot, 29 June, 1934, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Gerald Ian Maitland-Heriot (1898-1988), and his wife the former Paula Elsie Barbara Gordon (who died 2004); and married 28 Oct, 1961, Robert Edmund Scott Hanbury (1925-2009), head of that landed gentry family of Drumstinchall, formerly of Poles, son of Robert Francis Hanbury (1883-1960), and his wife the former Margaret Lucy Scott, scion of the Scott of Rotherfield Park Bts, by whom she had issue, a son, Roland (born 4 Sept, 1964) and a daughter, Melanie.
