_. The Hon Daphne Joan Debenham [nee Godber], who died 12 June, 2020, aged 96, was a scion of the Barons Godber.
She was born in 1923, daughter of Frederick Godber, 1st {and last} Baron Godber [1888-1976], sometime chairman and managing director of Shell, who was created a peer in 1956, by his wife the former Violet Ethel Beatrice Lovesy [1889-1993]. Her father died in Apr, 1976, when his barony became extinct.
She married 1942, Archibald Ian Scott Debenham, DFC [1916-2006], son of Archibald Scott Debenham [1877-1932], by his wife the former Maud Carney [1887-1961], by whom she had 2 sons and 2 daughters.
