_. The 2nd Viscount Norwich, CVO, died 1 June, 2018, aged 88.
John Julius Cooper was born 15 September, 1929, son of (Alfred) Duff Cooper, 1st Viscount Norwich, GCMG, DSO, PC (1890-1954), by his wife the former Lady Diana Olivia Winifred Maud Manners (d 1986), scion of the Dukes of Rutland; succeeded to the viscouncy on the death of his father, 1 January, 1954; married firstly, 5 Aug 1952 (div 1985) Anne Frances May Clifford, scion of the Barons Clifford of Chudleigh, daughter of Capt the Hon Sir Bede Clifford; married secondly, 14 June, 1989, the Hon Mary Philipps, former wife of the Hon Hugo Philipps (later Baron Milford), and daughter of the 1st Baron Sherfield.
Lord Norwich leaves a son and a daughter from his first marriage. The peerage, created in 1952, now passes to his son, the Hon Jason Charles Duff Bede Cooper, who was born 27 Oct, 1959. The 3rd Viscount is unmarried. There is no heir to the viscountcy.
