The Lady Richardson of Duntisbourne, who died 4 September, 2005, was the wife of the Lord Richardson of Duntisbourne, KG, MBE, PC, life peer, Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, sometime Governor of the Bank of England.
She was the former Margaret Alison Sheppard, daughter of the Very Rev. Hugh Richard Laurie Sheppard, Canon and Precentor of St Paul's Cathedral, and married the then Gordon Richardson, in 1941.
Her husband was Governor of the bank of England, 1973-83; sworn of the Privy Council in 1976; KG 1983; created a life baron in 1983, as Baron Richardson of Duntisbourne, of Duntisbourne, County Gloucester, &c.
Lady Richardson is survived by her husband and by a son, the Hon. Simon Richardson, and a daughter, Sarah, the Hon. Lady Riddell, wife of Sir John Riddell, 13th Baronet, CVO, DL, sometime Private Secretary to TRH The Prince and (late) Princess of Wales.
A Service is to be held at St Martin-in-the-Fields on Wednesday, 14 September, 2005.
