__. Sir Robert Bruce-Gardner, 3rd Baronet, has died at the age of 74.

Robert Henry Bruce-Gardner was born 10th June, 1943, only son of Sir Douglas Bruce-Gardner, 2nd Baronet, by his first wife the former Monica Flummerfelt Jefferson, dau of Prof Sir Geoffrey Jefferson, CBE, FRS; married 1979, Veronica Ann Hand-Oxborrow, daughter of the late Rev. W.E. Hand, by whom he had issue.

Sir Robert is succeeded in the baronetcy (cr UK 1945), by his son, Thomas Edmund Peter, born 28 January, 1982.

Anthony Charles Gordon-Lennox 1969-2017

_. Anthony Charles Gordon-Lennox, who died 7 October, 2017, aged 48, was a scion of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon, and a first cousin of the current duke.

He was born 29 April, 1969, the son of Lord Nicholas Gordon-Lennox, KCMG, KCVO (1931-2004), by his wife the former Mary Williamson, LVO (b 1934), sometime Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, scion of the Williamson baronets. Mr Gordon-Lennox was unmarried.

HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was present & the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were represented by Mr James Lowther-Pinkerton, HRH's equerry, at Gordon Lennox's Thanksgiving service at Southwark Cathedral, 6 Dec, 2017.

The Hon Bertie Cayzer is the son and heir of (Herbert) Robin Cayzer, 3rd Baron Rotherwick (Peerage of the UK, cr 1939), of Cornbury Park, Charlbury, Oxfordshire, by his former wife the former Sara Jane McAlpine (scion of the McAlpine Bts).

Maj. Nicholas Michael Lancelot Barne, CVO (d 2017)

_. Maj Nicholas Michael Lancelot Barne, CVO, who died 21 October, 2017, aged 73, was sometime private secretary to HRH The Duke of Gloucester, and a descendant of the Orr-Ewing baronets.

He married in 1974, the Hon Janet Elizabeth Maclean (b 1944), daughter of Sir Charles Hector Fitzroy Maclean, 11th Bt, The Baron Maclean, KT (life peerage ext 1990), sometime Lord Chamberlain to HM The Queen, by whom he had issue, two sons, Alasdair and Hamish.

The 3rd (and last) Viscount Churchill, OBE 1934-2017

__. The 3rd Viscount Churchill, OBE, investment banker, died 18 October, 2017. He was 83.

Victor George Spencer was born posthumously, 31 July, 1934, son of the 1st Viscount Churchill, GCVO (1864-1934), sometime Lord Chamberlain to King Edward VII, by his second wife the former Christine McRae Sinclair (later Lady Oliphant); succeeded to the Viscouncty and Barony of Churchill on the death of his half-brother, the 2nd Viscount, 21 Dec, 1973; unmarried.

The viscountcy of Churchill (created in 1902) now becomes extinct. The 3rd Viscount is succeeded in the barony of Churchill (created in 1815) by his second cousin once removed, Richard Harry Ramsay Spencer, born 11 Oct, 1926, who becomes the 6th Baron Churchill.

Baroness Boothby (née Sanna) (died 2017)

 The Baroness Boothby, who died 14 October, 2017, was the second wife and widow of the life peer the Baron Boothby (1900-86).

She was the former Wanda Sanna, daughter of Giuseppe Sanna, of Sardinia, and married 30 August, 1967, as his second wife Robert John Graham Boothby, Baron Boothby (born 12 February, 1900), the politician created a life Baron in 1958, son of Sir Robert Tuite Boothby, KBE (1871-1941), and his wife the former Mabel Lancaster (who died 9 May, 1948).

Her husband died 16 July, 1986.

She was born posthumously, 8 January, 1915, second daughter of Capt Lord Richard Wellesley, of the Grenadier Guards (1879-1914), who was killed in action, 29 Oct, 1914, by his wife the former Louise Nesta Pamela FitzGerald (died 1946),, daughter of Sir Maurice FitzGerald, 2nd Baronet, CVO, 20th Knight of Kerry. Her mother married secondly, in 1917, her first husband's brother, Major Lord George Wellesley (1889-1967).

Mary Wellesley was a granddaughter of the 4th Duke of Wellington, KG, GCVO (1849-1934). She was unmarried.
