The engagement was announced 22 January, 2025, between Hugh Charles Hutchinson Smith (born 1992), son of (Charles) Rupert Hutchinson Smith, of Hinton, Shropshire, and his wife the former Belinda Jane Gurney (born 26 Apr, 1962), scion of that landed gentry family, & Harriet Catherine Freer-Smith (born 1995), daughter of Christopher L. Freer-Smith, of Warnborough, Hampshire, and his wife the former Virginia C. Cooke.
