Diana Margaret Cookson, who died 5 January, 2025, aged 96, was descended from the Stanley Barons Sheffield.
She was born 19 October, 1928, the eldest daughter of Commander Alexander Dacre Lacy (1894-1969), and his wife the former Katherine Margaret Anne Goodenough (1902-1969), kin of the baronets of that name; and married 30 November, 1957, Ronald Frederick Stephen Cookson, by whom she had three sons, Stephen (born 1959), William (born 1961), and Richard (born 1963).
