Oliver Dyer-Bennet, who died 13 December, 2024, was a scion of the Dyer baronets, younger brother and heir presumptive to his cousin, Sir David Dyer-Bennet, 17th Baronet.
Dyer-Bennet, of Nevada, United States, was born in 1945, the eldest son of Frederick Dyer-Bennet (1918-1991), and his wife the former Patricia Esther Arndt, and was descended from Sir Thomas Swinnerton Dyer, 9th Baronet (1799-1878).
His cousin David Dyer-Bennet (born 1954), succeeded his distant cousin, Prof Sir Peter Swinnerton Dyer, 16th Baronet, in the baronetcy (cr 1678), on 26 December, 2018.
He married in 1984, Linda Helen Specht, by whom he had issue, a daughter, Katherine Elise (born 1985), and a son, Colin Wesley Dyer-Bennet (born 1988), now heir pres. to the baronetcy.
