Serena, Lady Remnant, who died 16 October, 2024, aged 92, was widow of the 3rd Baron Remnant, CVO (1930-2022).
The former Serena Jane Loehnis, she was born 23 May, 1932, the only daughter of Commander Sir Clive Loehnis, KCMG, RN (1902-1992), of Eaton Place, SW1, by his wife the former Rosemary Beryl Ryder (1909-2006), only daughter of Maj Hon Nathaniel Dudley Ryder (by his wife Beryl Angas, dau. of Charles Angas, of Linsay Park, Angaston, South Australia), 4th son of Henry Dudley [Ryder], 4th Earl of Harrowby, &c.
She married 24 June, 1953, the then Hon James Wogan Remnant (born 23 Oct, 1930), son and heir of the 2nd Baron Remnant, MBE (1895-1967), by his wife the former Norah Susan Wogan-Browne (who died 1990). Her husband succeeded his father, 4 June, 1967, as 3rd Baron Remnant, and died 4 March, 2022, aged 91.
Lady Remnant leaves issue, three sons and a daughter. The eldest son, Philip (born 20 Dec, 1954), is the fourth Baron Remnant.
