Lord Selsdon, the 3rd Baron, died 15 September, 2024, aged 86.
The peer, who succeeded to the peerage in 1963, was elected to the House of Lords in 1999 after Blair's ousting of the heredditary members, and he sat as a Conservative.
Malcolm McEacharn Mitchell-Thomson was born 27 October, 1937, the son of the 2nd Baron (1913-1963), and his first wife the former Phoebette Swithinbank, and succeeded to the peerage (created in 1932), and baronetcy (created in 1900), on the death of his father, 7 February, 1963.
Lord Selsdon was twice married, firstly, 2 June, 1965 (div.) Patricia Anne Smith (who died 20 Aug, 2018), daughter of Donald Smith, of Haslemere, co Surrey; married 2ndly, 1995, Mrs Gabrielle Tesseron, daughter of Richard G. Williams.
Lord Selsdon is succeeded by his only child by his first wife, the Hon Callum Malcolm McEacharn Mitchell-Thomson (who was born 7 November, 1969).
