Professor Noel John Parker-Jervis, who died 1 September, 2024, aged 103, was a scion of the Viscounts St Vincent.
He was born in Singapore, on Christmas Day 1920, the second son of Lieut. St Vincent John Parker-Jervis, RNVR (1891-1930), of Vancouver, and his wife the former Marianita Roller, and was descended from the 2nd Viscount St Vincent.
He was educated at Ampleforth and the University of British Columbia, and was a professor of English at the University of Alberta.
He married firstly, 1950 (div 1954), Jean Mary Columbus. He married 2ndly, 28 September, 1956, Betty Rutherford (1926-2017), third daughter of Jasper Rutherford, of Cumberland, BC, and had an adopted son, Jonathan Rutherford Parker-Jervis (born 5 Nov, 1962).
